Illinois Abroad and Global Exchange provides exceptional study abroad experiences through academically and professionally integrated pathways for Illinois students, faculty and staff.
In 2016-17, Illinois Abroad and Global Exchange (IAGE) facilitated 150 education abroad programs in over 45 countries in addition to serving as a collaborative partner to units across campus. This past year, more than 800 students studied abroad on IAGE-sponsored programs, comprising 43% of the campus total of outbound students. Recognizing the value of education abroad, IAGE works actively to promote those opportunities to the student body.
During the 2nd Annual Illinois Abroad Day, a campus-wide event organized by Illinois Abroad and Global Exchange, students were able to explore the programs, resources, and services available to them through the various study abroad offices at the Illinois.
Through a thorough review of its activities and programs, IAGE also defined a Core Services model. These newly-defined core service areas include outreach, media and marketing; enhanced systems support; and partner relations in addition to program development, management, and business operations.
In order to better serve all constituents, IAGE created, developed, and launched a new section of the study abroad website that provides targeted and informative resources specifically for the families and friends of study abroad students.
