Global Education and Training (GET) provides a gateway to expertise at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for partners around the world through high-quality training programs. They cultivate cutting-edge, transformative learning experiences for international student, scholar, and executive participants through our core services of collaborative program development, exceptional program management, and comprehensive outreach. The programs provide valuable opportunities for individuals from all around the world to develop global competencies at Illinois and prepare industry leaders to work in diverse, international contexts.
This year, GET reached over 400 business executives, government officials, higher education leaders, and students through 17 different training programs. Included in this count of participants were students from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Gifted Student Program. This is the second year that Illinois and Global Education and Training have hosted this program based on the overwhelming success of the program in the 2017-2018 academic year. Illinois is one of only six host institutions for 80 students nationwide.
GET also had the opportunity to collaborate with the College of Applied Health and Science at Illinois. GET hosted over 20 international students for a semester-long International Graduate Mentors Program in Kinesiology. Students in this program had the opportunity to conduct research with Illinois faculty and graduate students that will be published in academic journals.
As GET moves forward, they will continue to create new partnerships and welcome students from around the world to Illinois.
