The recent executive order on immigration is antithetical to the core values of our Library, of our University, and of the country. The University of Illinois Library supports and serves a global community that is richer for its diversity. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that respects, appreciates and enriches all individuals in our diverse community.
As President Killeen and Chancellor Jones recently noted, "our international community is a vital part of our excellence and reflects our steadfast commitment to diversity, inclusion, global engagement and impact in today’s society." This is especially true in a Library committed to the broadest possible understanding of enquiry.
