ACE 440: Financial Planning for Professionals
Capstone course applies financial planning principles and concepts in realistic case studies of specific planning needs, requires a comprehensive financial planning exercise, and covers professional ethics and responsibilities.
Prerequisites (Must be complete BEFORE taking this course):
Concurrent enrollment in or completion of ACE 345, ACE 346, ACE 444, and ACE 449.

Is this class discussion-based or lecture-based? How would you describe your teaching style?
It is lecture/discussion with many small group conversations during class related to case studies. The teaching style is interactive and conversational as real-life situations and cases are shared during the semester.
How are students evaluated (e.g. multiple choice or essay tests, papers, etc.)?
There are multiple choice exams, quizzes, and group case study work that includes papers and presentations. Participation is a significant part of the grade as well.

Students should complete the core courses required for the Financial Planning program in order to prepare for this course.
In what ways does this course prepare students to move through the program and/or into the work force?
Provides exposure to the comprehensive nature of financial planning through case studies, group work that simulates a team approach to planning, and opportunity to use industry software in completing projects. Also provides opportunity to interact with industry professionals.
