ACE 199 DMS: Digital Marketing & Social Media
Digital marketing has completely changed the way businesses connect with their customer base. This course exams strategies and campaigns within the digital landscape and the role of social media. Students will learn how to collect and analyze digital analytics. Students will prepare for and earn professional accreditation in analytics and search.
Prerequisites (Must be complete BEFORE taking this course):
None, but proficiency in Microsoft Excel is strongly recommended.

This course is lecture-based.
How would you describe your teaching style?
Ideally, I would like to think my lecture style is energetic and engaging.
How are students evaluated (e.g. multiple choice or essay tests, papers, etc.)?
Currently, the course will have two exams covering lecture material and readings, one project, and two professional accreditation exams.
In what ways does this course prepare students to move through the program and/or into the work force?
This course dissects current topics in digital marketing and social media. As part of the curriculum, students will earn professional accreditations that will set them apart from other candidates in the field by demonstrating a stronger knowledge and motivation. I will be arranging working professionals in the ditital marketing and social media industry to visit and share their insights, and to give students a realistic snapshot of what working in the field is like.
What is your background in this subject?
I am fascinated by the digital ecosystem, specifically social media and how it has emerged as such a force in driving consumer actions. The topics we will cover are of personal interest - almost an obession. I operate an affiliate site, and as an independent contractor, I prepare metrics for social media agencies.
