A postdoctoral research associate position is available to research and develop a process for the catalytic hydrothermal gasification of biomass to renewable natural gas. Key responsibilities will include catalyst development, testing, process engineering, and scale-up. The candidate will be expected to familiarize themself with the relevant literature, plan and execute experiments, analyze and interpret data, write reports, and prepare manuscripts for publication.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D in chemical engineering or any science/engineering field with relevant experience in catalysis and reaction/process engineering. Employment as a postdoctoral research associate requires the completion of a Ph.D within the past 10 years. Experience in materials synthesis and characterization and reaction engineering is highly preferred. Preference will be given to those with experience in gasification reaction techniques with instrumentation skills in XRD, SEM, XPS, NMR, BET, GC-MS, GC-FID, and ICP-MS. Proficiency is required in written and oral English. Other desired attributes include effective communication, collaborative and positive attotude, and organization skills. Proficiency in commonly employed software, databases, and project management tools.
This is a full-time position with a salary per university guidelines. The anticipated duration of available funding is currently 3 years. There is a high possibility of an extension depending on funding and programmatic need.
