The Illinois Sustainable Technology Center is seeking an individual to participate in and assist with the original research pertinent to the development, characterization, and evaluation of new materials and processes for clean energy and environmental applications. Participate and assist in laboratory and bench-scale experiments and measurements for carbon capture & utilization and other clean energy research. Assist in troubleshooting of experimental setups. Assist in experimental data analysis, modeling, and techno-economic analysis. Conduct literature searches as well as prepare reports and documents. Position is based in Champaign, Illinois.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of chemical engineering, environmental engineering, materials, chemistry, or related discipline. Ability to assemble experimental setups and perform troubleshooting and experiments. Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures. Ability to learn and apply new laboratory and research skills. Good writing skills to present results and prepare reports and papers. Ability to effectively communicate and work with staff and others. Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a diverse and fast-paced work environmental consisting of multiple and changing priorities with stringent deadlines, under minimal supervisor. Proficiency in commonly employed software and databases. The work of this position takes place in a chemical laboratory. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Work up to 40 hours per week at $14 to $20 per hour (depending on qualifications).
