Why Work at the Prairie Research Institute?
We are seeking up to three motivated individuals to participate in and support original research and technology development in one or more areas pertaining to carbon capture & utilization, critical materials recovery, and the beneficial utilization of waste materials. Responsibilities include participating in laboratory and bench-scale experiments and analytical characterization to evaluate new materials and processes, assisting in the assembly and troubleshooting of experimental setups, analyzing experimental data, supporting modeling efforts, performing literature searches, as well as preparing reports and documentation.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or a current graduate or undergraduate standing in chemical, environmental, materials, or mechanical engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline. Ability to learn and apply new laboratory and research skills with training. Ability to assemble experimental setups and perform troubleshooting and experiments under supervision. Good writing skills for presenting results and preparing reports and documentation. Ability to effectively communicate and work with other team members. Proficiency in commonly used office and data software. The work of this position takes place in a chemical laboratory. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications: Laboratory work experience. Knowledge of chemical/environmental processes or skills of material characterization.
Work up to 40 hours per week at $15 to $20 per hour, depending on qualifications.
