The Illinois Sustainable Technology Center, a division of the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign is seeking upper-level undergraduate/graduate research hourly with mechanical engineering/nuclear and plasma engineering/aerospace engineering/chemical engineering background to conduct CFD simulation works on a plasma-based CO2 capture and conversion project
Job Description:
This is a simulation work-based summer 2025 (3 months) research position. The candidates should have a detailed and thorough understanding of the CFD simulations, CFD simulation software such as: COMSOL, MATLAB, ANSYS, FLUENT, etc. Both advanced undergraduate students and graduate students with good working knowledge of simulating mixing patterns of gases through channels, porous media in absence and or presence of plasma, chemical interactions, chemical kinetics are preferred.
This summer research position will be around 25 hours per week with some schedule flexibility. The salary will be $18-$20/hour depending on qualifications and experience. Send your resume to Dr. Chinmoy Baroi (cbaroi@illinois.edu).
