Duties & Responsibilities: Two positions available. Research topics may be varied, but two focal projects are Blanding’s Turtle and Ornate Box Turtle conservation. Duties will include collecting field data associated with projects, assisting with biotic assessment surveys, analyzing data, presenting findings in a publication, and other scholarly research activities.
Qualifications: B.S. in Biology, Ecology, Zoology or related field, a solid understanding of ecological principles, the ability to work independently in sometimes harsh field conditions, hold a valid Driver’s license, and have relevant statistical coursework or training. Prospective candidates must have also taken the GRE and achieved a high enough score for admittance into the University of Illinois Graduate College and the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences.
Estimated Start Date: start between June and August 2017
Salary: Dependent upon education level and academic unit, up to $1,924.73/month for a 50% appointment offered for 12 months. Students must be enrolled during the semester to receive a tuition waiver.
