The Prairie Research Institute is seeking a part-time employee to maintain the security and stability of a Sitefinity website. This would involve maintaining awareness of and applying necessary security patches -- approximately 10 hours per month, starting in spring 2022 and potentially extending through summer and fall. Additional back-end Sitefinity development projects are possible, depending on the employee's interests and availability.
The part-time Sitefinity web developer will work closely with a full-time front end web developer.
This role can be performed remotely.
Qualified University of Illinois graduate students are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, and upgrade as needed, a Sitefinity (v. 13.3) website.
- Conduct quality assurance and testing.
- Write clear, timely documentation.
- Track, archive, and report on projects and routine tasks using established processes and tools.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
Required Experience
- Experience developing and maintaining websites using the Sitefinity content management system.
- Experience using standard web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and JQuery.
Required Knowledge
- Ability to work in .NET framework and write C# scripts.
Preferred Knowledge
- Ability to manage Windows IIS Servers
- Knowledge of the University of Illinois’ shared technology services.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, and/or Shibboleth, in relation to authentication for web applications.
