First Steps
Our First Steps workshops offer students the opportunity to get a general overview of study abroad from a past study abroad student. The workshop offers information about the benefits of studying abroad to where to get information about costs. Attending First Steps can answer a lot of your initial questions as well as help you to decide if studying abroad is for you. Visit our website to see when we are offering our next workshop.
Brochure Pages
Whether you know where you’d like to study abroad, are stuck between a couple programs, or don’t know where to start, taking a look at our brochure pages in My Study Abroad can give you a better idea of what to expect from each program. Brochure pages offer information ranging from the accommodations offered by the program to an estimated cost sheet. The brochure pages also offer specific information about the program. This is a good resource to get a better idea of what kinds of programs you’re interested in.
The Advising and Resource Center
After stopping by a First Steps workshop and going through a few brochure pages, you may have more questions about specific programs or studying abroad in general. This is when you should visit the Advising and Resource Center. The resource center is located in room 112 of the International Studies Building and is staffed by past study abroad students, Program Assistants, that are available from 9AM-4:45PM Monday through Friday for walk-in advising appointments. They are there to help answer your questions and provide you with advice from their own personal experiences.
Education Abroad Coordinators
Once you’ve decided on which program is right for you, you can schedule a meeting with an Education Abroad Coordinator. Each of our coordinators specialize in a specific region and can better answer your questions about particular programs as well as help you begin your study abroad planning.
