CHAMPAIGN, Ill., 2/6/18: Starting this month, users will be asked to register to access data on Illinois’ weather, soil, and water conditions on the University of Illinois’ Water & Atmospheric Resources Monitoring (WARM) program website. Data are still free of charge.
WARM’s four networks provide on their website hourly and daily maps of weather and soil conditions, daily graphs of water table levels, and long-term datasets of weather, soils, water table levels, and sediment concentrations in rivers and streams. More than 150,000 users visit the WARM website annually, according to WARM program manager Jennie Atkins.
“User registration on the website will allow us to better understand the site’s users so we can make decisions about future directions and develop new tools and products,” Atkins said.
WARM is available at http://www.isws.illinois.edu/warm/. Information collected through registration will be used only by the WARM program and will not be distributed.
