At 7:55 a.m. Wednesday at the Armory, 505 E. Armory Ave., Champaign, Alicia M. Merrell-Sutherland, 48, no address provided, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for trespassing on state-supported land. Merrell-Sutherland was stopped by a police officer who recognized her and was aware that she previously had been issued a no-trespassing notice for all U. of I. property.
Corey R. Ketring, 26, and U. of I. student Luis F. Robles, 28, both of Champaign, were issued state of Illinois notices to appear in court for violations of the Humane Care for Animals Act. Police initially were called to their residence in the 2200 block of South First Street, Champaign, at 1:05 p.m. Monday when a witness heard yelling and suspected that a domestic incident was taking place. Officers called animal control after entering the apartment and finding two dogs surrounded by a large amount of urine and feces. The animal control officer deemed the environment inhumane and took custody of the dogs.
