Andrew W. Stover, 26, of Loda, Illinois, was arrested at 6:48 p.m. Wednesday near Lincoln and Delaware avenues, Urbana, for driving with a revoked license, possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. Stover’s vehicle initially was stopped when an officer recognized him as the suspect in an unrelated incident that had occurred earlier that day in Champaign. Upon searching the vehicle, police found cocaine and a large amount of methamphetamine.
Diego Lorenzo-Mateo, 20, no address provided, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross School, 410 W. White St., Champaign, on a Champaign County warrant for failure to appear in court. School staff called police when Lorenzo-Mateo refused to leave the school playground.
A U. of I. employee reported that a $500 bench had been stolen and a $600 picnic table had been destroyed overnight Sunday or Monday at the Pollinatarium, 606 W. Windsor Road, Urbana. Additionally, a door had been removed from a storage shed on the property, and someone had moved several items from the shed and left them near the road.
A U. of I. employee reported that someone had stolen two rings between May 10-13 from her office at Illinois Street Residence Halls, 1010 W. Illinois St., Urbana. It was reported that the office was locked at the time of the theft. The two rings have a total estimated value of $5,000.
