At 2:16 p.m. Saturday, it was reported that a swastika was etched into a bathroom stall door of the first floor men’s bathroom at the English Building, 608 S. Wright St., Urbana. An estimated cost to repair the damage was unavailable.
At 12:50 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Green Street, Virginia Cabrera, 20, of Charleston, Illinois, was cited for battery stemming from an altercation at the Red Lion Pub, 211 E. Green St., Champaign. Cabrera is accused of striking a Red Lion security guard three times in the back of the head.
A U. of I. student reported Friday that his bicycle had been stolen between 1 p.m. May 2 and noon May 5 at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $235, was locked to a rack.
A U. of I. student reported that his wallet was stolen at 10 p.m. Friday at the Activities and Recreation Center, 201 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The student left the wallet unattended on a bench while playing basketball. When he returned to collect his belongings, his wallet, which contained cash, identification and insurance cards, was missing. The total value of the stolen property was valued at $150.
At 2:19 a.m. Friday at the corner of Neil and John streets, Champaign, Kobe A. Armstrong, 20, of Champaign, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for driving with no lights and failure to signal a turn when required. Police stopped Armstrong’s vehicle after multiple traffic violations including failure to signal a turn.
A U. of I. employee reported that cash and credit cards were stolen from her purse while it was left unattended between 1-3 p.m. Wednesday during a class at Davenport Hall, 607 S. Mathews Ave., Urbana. At the end of class, the victim noticed that her purse had been tampered with and discovered $70 and two credit cards were missing.
