Two U. of I. students reported that they were robbed of their cellphones at 12:10 a.m. Monday in the 700 block of South Wright Street, Urbana. The students reported that they were walking on the sidewalk when they were approached by an unknown person who demanded their phones. The offender didn’t display a weapon and didn’t threaten the victims. The students complied with the demand, and the offender ran away. The phones were later found on the ground near the South Quad. The investigation is ongoing.
A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen Friday or Saturday from Illinois Street Residence Halls, 1010 W. Illinois St., Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $200, was locked to a rack.
A U. of I. student reported that her bicycle had been stolen between 5-11:30 p.m. Friday from Morrill Hall, 505 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $100, was locked to a rack.
At 5:10 p.m. Friday, police responded to a fight that had occurred between two co-workers at Chesterbrook Academy, 2001 S. Oak St., Champaign. One person involved was assessed on scene by medical personnel and released. Officers determined that neither party was the primary aggressor, and no arrests were made.
