    At 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, U. of I. student Austin D. Kipershtein, 21, of Glenview, Illinois, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for trespassing. Kipershtein was identified as one of three people who entered a sorority house in the 100 block of East John Street without permission May 19. Kipershtein contacted police after a campus safety notice was sent, and he was issued the notice to appear in court Wednesday via certified mail.

    At 2:42 p.m. Tuesday at the U. of I. Public Safety Building, 1110 W. Springfield Ave., Urbana, Myles Q. Gary, 22, no address provided, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for theft. After viewing a security camera image, a U. of I. security officer recognized Gary as the person who reportedly stole a bicycle June 9 from a rack at Loomis Laboratory, 1110 W. Green St., Urbana.

    At 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, U. of I. student Patrick Meier, 21, of Naperville, Illinois, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for trespassing. Meier was identified as one of three people who entered a sorority house in the 100 block of East John Street without permission May 19. Meier contacted police after a campus safety notice was sent, and he was issued the notice to appear in court Wednesday via email to his attorney.

    A person reported that someone had written in permanent marker on the hood of her vehicle between 2:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesday while it was parked in U. of I. parking lot E-24, 101 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The estimated cost to repair the damage is $50.

    A U. of I. housing security officer reported that someone had broken a window Monday or Tuesday at Wassaja Hall, 1202 S. First St., Champaign. The estimated cost to repair the window is $1,000.

    A U. of I. employee reported that catalytic converters had been stolen from three university-owned vehicles between Friday and Monday from the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Research Farm, 3603 S. Race St., Urbana. The auto parts were cut from the vehicles and have a total estimated value of $7,700. 

    A U. of I. employee reported that someone had left a threatening voicemail message Friday at her office at the Education Building, 1310 S. Sixth St., Champaign. The caller was a person who is not known to the victim.

    Eugene J.R. Stevenson, 24, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at his residence in the 600 block of West Green Street, Urbana, for armed violence, unlawful possession of a firearm and delivery of cannabis. Another resident, Perla R. Juarez, 20, was arrested at the same time for manufacturing cannabis. Police had obtained a search warrant for the apartment as a result of a Street Crimes Task Force investigation into suspected drug activity. Upon searching the residence, officers found a large amount of cannabis packaged for sale and a loaded handgun.

    Two U. of I. students reported that they were robbed at gunpoint at 12:30 a.m. Friday outside of the Holonyak Micro and Nanotechnology Lab, 208 N. Wright St., Urbana. The students were walking on the Engineering Quad when they were approached by a person who brandished a handgun and demanded their phones and wallets. The students complied, and the offender ran from the area. Police later found the phones and one wallet discarded on a sidewalk, and the found items were returned to the students. The second wallet, which contained cash, credit cards and identification, remains missing. No one was physically injured.

    A U. of I. student reported that he was robbed at 10:46 p.m. Thursday at an apartment complex in the 400 block of East Healey Street, Champaign. The student was walking through an underground parking garage when he was approached by two people who demanded the student’s property. Neither of the offenders displayed or threatened the student with a weapon. The offenders fled the area after collecting the student’s property. Police later found the items discarded nearby, except for cash from the student’s wallet. No one was physically injured.

    At 8:10 a.m. Thursday at the U. of I. Public Safety Building, 1110 W. Springfield Ave., Urbana, Alicia M. Merrell-Sutherland, 48, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court related to a Champaign County warrant for failure to appear in court. Police learned of the warrant when Merrell-Sutherland walked into the Public Safety Building to file paperwork related to a no-trespassing notice she had received.

    An employee of a road construction business reported Thursday that someone had driven through freshly poured concrete at a construction site near St. Mary’s Road and Neil Street, Champaign. There was no information available on the estimated cost to repair the damage.

    A U. of I. student reported Thursday that her bicycle had been stolen between April 10-17 from Hopkins Hall, 1208 S. First St., Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $150, was locked to a rack.

    A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen between 12:15-2 p.m. Wednesday at Loomis Laboratory, 1110 W. Green St., Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $100, was locked to a rack.
