On Jan. 18, a U. of I. employee reported that someone had made an unauthorized $37.95 transaction on her debit card. The card was used to place a food order in South Dakota. The employee was in possession of the card at the time of the transaction.
At 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign, U. of I. student Killian W. Egan, 21, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for theft. Store security personnel called police after seeing Egan attempt to leave the store without paying for a laboratory coat and goggles with a total retail value of $44.98.
At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign, U. of I. student Jasmin K. Torres, 19, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for theft. Store security personnel called police after seeing Torres attempt to leave the store without paying for two textbooks with a total retail value of $162.20.
A U. of I. employee reported that cash and a credit card had been stolen from her purse Monday at Gregory Hall, 810 S. Wright St., Urbana. The purse was left unattended in a shared office.
