A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen Saturday or Sunday from Wassaja Hall, 1202 S. First St., Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $500, was locked to a rack.
Devin W. Nofftz, 28, of Champaign, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South Neil Street, Champaign, for driving under the influence of alcohol. Nofftz’s vehicle initially was stopped because it was traveling the wrong way on a one-way street and swerved to avoid a collision with an oncoming police vehicle.
A U. of I. employee reported that his vehicle’s catalytic converter had been stolen between 5:45 a.m. and noon Friday while it was parked in U. of I. parking lot E-14 near Oak Street and Kirby Avenue, Champaign. The estimated cost to replace the auto part is $2,115.
Patrick L. St. Clair, 45, of Bloomington, Illinois, was arrested at 4:03 a.m. Saturday near Wright and Beslin streets, Urbana, on a McLean County, Illinois, warrant for failure to appear in court. St. Clair’s vehicle initially was stopped after an officer conducted a records check on the license plate and discovered the warrant.
