At 11:17 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of South Second Street, Champaign, U. of I. student John J. Jackson was issued a city of Champaign notice to appear in court for hosting a nuisance party. Jackson was cited after police were called to his apartment for the second time that night on complaints of a loud party.
Chase L. Henson, 21, of Rantoul, Illinois, was arrested at 8:12 a.m. Monday at Roger Adams Laboratory, 600 S. Mathews Ave., Urbana, for burglary, obstruction of justice and trespassing on state-supported property. Police initially were called because Henson was found asleep in an office that was not his. Upon arrival, officers determined that Henson had broken into several laboratories overnight and damaged lab equipment, computers and office furniture, causing at least $8,500 in damage. Henson previously had been issued a no-trespassing notice for all U. of I. property and gave police false information when questioned.
