    A man reported that multiple credit cards and cash had been stolen from his vehicle between 7:30-10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot outside of State Farm Center, 1800 S. First St., Champaign. It is believed that the vehicle was locked and unknown how the offender gained entry.

    At 3:12 p.m. Tuesday at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign, U. of I. student Logan L. Weeter, 23, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for retail theft. Store security personnel called police after observing Weeter attempt to leave the store without paying for a $7.40 pack of pencils

    It was reported that a U. of I. student had been sexually assaulted sometime after 2 a.m. Sunday at a university residence hall on College Court in Urbana. 

    Servando J. Macedo, 25, of Urbana, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. Monday near Green Street and Ridgeway Avenue, Champaign, on a city of Champaign warrant for possession of cannabis. Macedo was a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped for speeding.

    A U. of I. student reported that cash had been stolen from her wallet between 1:30-3 p.m. Monday at the Student Dining and Residential Programs Building, 301 E. Gregory Drive, Champaign. The wallet was lost while the student was at the dining hall. It was later returned to the front desk, but the cash was missing.

    U. of I. student Wynda L. Wormack, 21, was arrested at 4:50 a.m. Saturday at her apartment in the 300 block of East John Street, Champaign, for domestic battery. It was reported that Wormack had struck another U. of I. student with whom she was previously in a dating relationship. The battery incident occurred Friday at Chez Veterans Center, 908 W. Nevada St., Urbana.

    At 8 p.m. Friday at the U. of I. Public Safety Building, 1110 W. Springfield Ave., Urbana, U. of I. student Erin A. Close, 22, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for retail theft. Close was identified as the offender who is accused to stealing two items with a total retail value of $64.94 on Oct. 21 from the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign.

    A U. of I. student reported that someone had made unauthorized purchases using his credit card between Nov. 28 and Thursday. The fraudulent charges totaled $97.96.

    A U. of I. student reported that someone had made unauthorized purchases totaling $103.71 using his credit card between Dec. 1 and Wednesday. On Dec. 1, the student received two packages that he did not order.

    A U. of I. employee reported that personal items had been stolen from the trunk of his vehicle between noon and 4 p.m. Wednesday at U. of I. parking lot E-24, 101 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The stolen items have an estimated value of $609. It is not known whether the trunk was closed and locked.

    At 7:46 p.m. Thursday, a police officer discovered that multiple packages had been opened and their contents presumed stolen in the lobby of an apartment complex at 700 S. Gregory St., Urbana. The officer was checking the building because there had been multiple thefts there dating back to Nov. 9. A number of packages that were not empty were taken by police for safekeeping until their owners can be contacted. The investigation is ongoing.

    A U. of I. student reported Wednesday that several packages belonging to a number of people appeared to have been opened and their contents stolen at an apartment building at 700 S. Gregory St., Urbana. Another U. of I. student reported Thursday that a package with a retail value of $170.26 was delivered to the mailbox area of the building on Tuesday, and it was missing by the time the student went to retrieve it on Wednesday. It was later determined that hers was one of the opened packages from the initial report. 

    A U. of I. student reported that someone had made unauthorized charges totaling $1,380.40 on her credit card Nov. 29. The fraudulent purchases were made at a retail store in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.

    A U. of I. employee reported Nov. 5 that four suspicious envelopes had been received at Swanlund Administration Building, 601 E. John St., Champaign. The envelopes contained fraudulent checks and were delivered to Swanlund because that was the listed return address. However, the envelopes had not been sent from that location, and the checks listed information for businesses in Florida and Alabama.

    A U. of I. contractor reported that a welding machine with an estimated value of $5,931 had been stolen between Nov. 21 and Tuesday from a construction site at the Siebel Center for Design, 1208 S. Fourth St., Champaign.

    Steven A. Lee, 23, of Champaign, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday at State Farm Center, 1800 S. First St., Champaign, on a city of Champaign warrant for theft. Police initially were called by witnesses who observed Lee acting erratically and asked police to check on his welfare.

    A U. of I. student reported that someone on Tuesday had made unauthorized credit card charges totaling $3,707. The credit card belongs to the student’s father but was in the student’s possession at the time the fraudulent charges were made.

    A U. of I. student reported that someone on Tuesday had made an unauthorized $125 credit card charge. The student lost his wallet earlier in the day at Engineering Hall, 1308 W. Green St., Urbana, and later received a message from his bank indicating that someone had used the credit card fraudulently.

    A U of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen between Monday and Wednesday from Lundgren Hall, 1201 S. Fourth St., Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $200, was locked to a rack.

    Darion M. Jones, 21, of Savoy, Illinois, was arrested at 9:51 p.m. Tuesday at Busey Hall, 1111 W. Nevada St., Urbana, for disorderly conduct. It was reported that Jones had been sending threatening text messages to a U. of I. student for a few months. While an officer was speaking with the victim outside the residence hall, Jones approached and made verbal threats directed at the victim. Jones was also issued a no-trespassing notice for all U. of I. property.

    At 7:15 p.m. Monday, a woman reported that someone had made two unauthorized transactions on her credit card totaling $5,718.51. The card was in her possession at the time the charges were made.

    At 3:34 p.m. Sunday, a U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen after it was delivered to the lobby of his apartment building in the 700 block of South Gregory Street, Urbana. The package, which has a retail value of $218, had been delivered Wednesday while the student was away.

    At 4:03 p.m. Thursday at Stadium Drive and Neil Street, Champaign, Ross E. McCauley, 36, of Chicago, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for criminal defacement of property. Police were called by a witness who saw McCauley painting graffiti under a viaduct.
