Yi Li, 29, was arrested at 9:34 a.m. Saturday at his apartment in the 300 block of South First Street, Champaign, for domestic battery and endangering the life or health of a child. It was reported that Li struck and threw a small stool at a person who was holding a 3-month-old child.
A U. of I. graduate student reported that he had received unwanted emails Friday and Saturday from a student who previously was enrolled in a class taught by the graduate student. The emails were of a harassing nature.
At 2:06 p.m. Monday, Epharata E. Palmer, 37, of Urbana, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for battery. It was reported that Palmer sprayed another person with deodorant as the two were exiting an airplane around 3 p.m. Sunday at Willard Airport, 11 Airport Road, Savoy, Illinois.
U. of I. students William D. Lim, 19; Daniel Ji Won Shin, 20; and Joel Tzun-Shiun Chiang, 20; all of Champaign, were arrested at 2:02 a.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of South Mathews Avenue, Urbana, for theft. While the three were walking together on the Main Quad near Foellinger Auditorium, a police officer observed Chiang attempt to steal a bicycle by cutting the lock with bolt cutters. The group was walking with two bicycles that they admitted they had stolen earlier in the night.
