Dajon K. Brown 22, no address provided, was arrested at 8:48 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of East Springfield Avenue, Champaign, for trespassing on state-supported property, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, threatening a public official and aggravated assault. Police initially were called by a security guard at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., Urbana, who recognized Brown and was aware that he previously had been issued a no-trespassing notice for all U. of I. property. Brown was aggressive with the guard, threatened to shoot him and ran when officers arrived. After he was arrested, Brown was found to be in possession of a purse that did not belong to him.
A man reported Wednesday that someone had stolen his wallet Feb. 7 at State Farm Center, 1800 S. First St., Champaign, and attempted a transaction with his credit card. The transaction was declined. The wallet was returned Monday to the lost and found at the Activities and Recreation Center, 201 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. All the financial cards were in the wallet, but cash had been stolen.
A U. of I. employee reported Wednesday that five microphones had been stolen from classrooms between Dec. 20 and Jan. 22. The microphones have a total estimated value of $375 and were taken from Loomis Laboratory, 1110 W. Green St., Urbana; the Materials Science and Engineering Building, 1304 W. Green St., Urbana; the Transportation Building, 104 S. Mathews Ave., Urbana; and Everitt Laboratory, 1406 W. Green St., Urbana.
