Marjorie D. Hill, 50, of Urbana, was arrested at 10:09 a.m. Tuesday at Illinois Terminal, 45 E. University Ave., Champaign, for possession of drug paraphernalia and two Champaign County warrants for probation violations. Police initially were called by a terminal security employee who recognized Hill and was aware of the warrants. Police searched Hill as part of the arrest and found a smoking pipe containing cocaine residue in her pocket.
Three people were arrested at 1:37 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 1300 block of Cypress Lane, Rantoul, Illinois, following a task force investigation into suspected drug activity. After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, police entered and found powder cocaine, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, three guns and ammunition. The arrests and preliminary charges were as follows: Michael J. Sanders, 52, of Rantoul, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute; Robert F. Mercer, 60, of Rantoul, for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition; and Andrea M. Owens, 32, of Rantoul, for being in possession of a firearm after her firearm owner identification had been revoked and four arrest warrants for failure to appear in court issued in Champaign, Edgar and Tazewell counties.
