Preston J. Roseborough, 20, of Champaign, was arrested at 2:18 p.m. Saturday near Lincoln and Delaware avenues, Urbana, on Champaign County and DeWitt County, Illinois, warrants for failure to appear in court. Roseborough’s vehicle initially was stopped because he was speeding.
A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen around 2 p.m. Saturday from Van Doren Hall, 1215 S. Fourth St., Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $350, was locked to a rack. The student also reported Sunday that a video camera was stolen in December from his room at Van Doren Hall. The camera has an estimated value of $175, and it is not known whether the room was locked at the time of the theft.
A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen between September and Saturday from Evans Hall, 1115 W. Nevada St., Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $200, was locked to a rack. When the student went to retrieve his bicycle, he found the cut lock and a broken reflector.
At 3:17 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign, U. of I. student Vida I. Perez, 20, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for theft. A store security employee called police after seeing Perez attempt to leave the store without paying for a $38 textbook.
