A U. of I. student reported that he was a victim of deceptive practices Saturday. The student attempted to sell a $200 computer monitor online. An unknown person who claimed to be interested in the monitor instructed the student to send $100 via an online transaction, and then the unknown person would send back $300. The student sent the money and never heard back from the purported buyer.
A U. of I. student reported that his laptop computer had been stolen between 5-7:15 p.m. Sunday at Trelease Hall, 901 W. College Court, Urbana. The student left the $1,500 computer unattended in a basement study room.
A U. of I. student reported that his motorcycle had been stolen between Thursday and Saturday from U. of I. parking lot A-3, 104 S. Wright St., Urbana. The motorcycle has an estimated value of $2,000.
