At 6 p.m. Wednesday at 801 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana, Joshua R. Gray, 29, of Urbana, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for criminal damage to property. Gray was identified as the offender using spray paint on the sidewalk near the Alma Mater statue during a protest.
At 10:33 p.m. Thursday near the corner of Healey and First streets, Champaign, Tajh L. Brown, 25, of Urbana, was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a firearm. Brown was initially stopped by police for driving without headlights. Upon smelling an odor of cannabis, police asked Brown to exit the vehicle. A firearm was discovered when it began to fall out of Brown’s pocket. A passenger also was cited for possession of adult-use cannabis in a vehicle.
At 12:01 a.m. Friday at Willard Airport, 11 Airport Road, Savoy, Nicholas M. Czarny, 26, of Rankin, Illinois, was cited for driving under a suspended license. Officers were dispatched to the area after witnesses reported Czarny entering rental cars without permission. Czarny also was issued a no-trespass notice for all U. of I. property.
