    A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen overnight Sunday or Monday from Lundgren Hall, 1201 S. Fourth St., Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $450, was locked to a rack.

    A U. of I. student reported that her bicycle had been stolen overnight Sunday or Monday from Weston Hall, 204 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $500, was locked to a rack.

    Niela K. Solomon, 28, of Danville, Illinois, was arrested at 10:31 p.m. Aug. 16 in the 600 block of East Pennsylvania Avenue, Champaign. Solomon initially called police to report that she had been physically attacked by an acquaintance while the two were visiting a grave site at Mount Hope Cemetery. Police learned that Solomon was wanted on a Vermilion County, Illinois, arrest warrant for failure to appear in court.

    A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen between 3:15-3:50 p.m. Friday from the Activities and Recreation Center, 201 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $550, was left unlocked at a bike rack.

    A U. of I. employee reported that someone had broken an exterior glass door Thursday at the International Studies Building, 910 S. Fifth St., Champaign. The estimated cost to replace the door is $200.

    A U. of I. employee reported that her vehicle had been damaged between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at U. of I. parking lot C-9, 505 E. Chalmers St., Champaign. The employee found scratches and an oily liquid on the vehicle's rear bumper. A damage estimate was not immediately available.

    A U. of I. student reported that cash had been stolen from her purse Monday at Huff Hall, 1206 S. Fourth St., Champaign. The student reported that she last remembered having her purse in her vehicle, which was left unlocked outside Huff Hall around 5:45 p.m. When she returned at 9 p.m., the purse was missing. On Tuesday morning, a U. of I. employee discovered the student’s property scattered on a sidewalk outside of Huff Hall. All the stolen items were returned except for the cash, which was not among the found property.

    Three people reported that someone had broken into their vehicles between Aug. 9 and Friday at the U. of I. Golf Course, 800 Hartwell Drive, Savoy, Illinois. Cash and banking cards were stolen, and the cards were later used at Champaign retail stores. At least one of the vehicles incurred an estimated $500 in damage during the break-in.

    A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen between July 30 and Saturday outside his apartment in the 700 block of South Gregory Street, Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $300, was locked to a rack.

    At 12:22 p.m. Friday outside the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, 405 N. Mathews Ave., Urbana, Gregory L. Clark, 58, of Urbana, was issued state of Illinois notices to appear in court for aggravated assault and failure to appear in court. Police initially were called by a passerby who reported that Clark had threatened to stab him with garden shears.

    On Friday, a U. of I. student reported an attempted scam. The student reported that she received an email on July 28 from a person purporting to be a professor regarding employment with UNICEF. After corresponding via text message and email for about two weeks, the unknown person sent the student a check for $2,453.70 and directed the student to deposit the funds in her account. The bank declined the check, and the student did not suffer any financial loss. The emails had come from the campus email address of another U. of I. student whose account had been hacked.

    At 2:50 p.m. Tuesday at the Champaign County Jail, 502 S. Lierman Ave., Urbana, Sean M. Cox, 36, of Urbana, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for theft. Cox was in custody at the jail on an unrelated charge when a corrections officer recognized him in a suspect photo that had been distributed by U. of I. detectives investigating a July 29 bicycle theft at the Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science, 201 N. Goodwin Ave., Urbana. 

    A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen overnight Tuesday or Wednesday from Snyder Hall, 206 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $100, was locked to a rack.
