Free Financial Education Resources for Illinois Residents
Maggie Owen, Financial Programs Manager for Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs, highlighted the many programs she supports for Illinois consumers to get access to unbiased financial education. These programs serve a wide age range, from very young children through seniors.
Programs through Illinois’ Treasurer’s Office:
- Free Financial Literacy Resources for Financial Capability Month - This page highlights many of the programs available through the Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs office. These resources can be used throughout the year, but may help you support Financial Capability Month which happens in April annually.
- Money Minded Illinois Curriculum - This program is targeted towards teachers & school districts to support them in reaching financial literacy and some other social studies standards.
- ILFinancial Wellness Hub - This virtual, self-paced program supports learning about a wide variety of financial topics, like saving for emergencies, retirement planning, managing debt, and more.
