This first release of the brand architecture includes the Block I Logo and Illinois Wordmark Guide and the Unit Wordmark System. Once you receive your unit wordmark, you are permitted to use them on your website. However the web will require separate set of web design standards that are not covered by the brand architecture standards.
Web design standards will include the use of the Illinois wordmarks in a website template. The web design standard will create create a more unified user experience as users navigate across the university's websites.
Future Web Design Standard
The measure of our online brand's success is whether users can get what they need, how helpful we are perceived as being, and ultimately whether users were satisfied with their experiences. For this reason, our work to bolster the brand means using identity marks effectively, addressing some critical components including web standards, accessibility, and usability.
Once in place, the web design standard will provide usability as users navigate across the university. This work is currently in definition stages and will be informed by the work we are releasing leading up to its availability. In addition, we are working to secure partnerships that allow the web design standard to be easily applied, and available across platforms. More information will be provided when available.
