In our case, our brand architecture shows the relationships of university entities to the master brand, Illinois. The Brand Architecture informs the Unit Wordmark System. Units within the university each play a role toward elevating our master brand, Illinois. When grouping roles into alike relationships, we get an organized system "architecture". The Unit Wordmark System is a set of visual rules created from the brand architecture that depicts our entire institution and all of its complex relationships as one unified organization.
