University of Illinois System President Tim Killeen issued this statement today in response to the untimely passing of Illinois State Senator Scott Bennett:
"Senator Bennett was a great friend to the university, a champion for higher education and a good man. On behalf of the University of Illinois System, I want to express my condolences to his family. His leadership, wisdom and commitment to the people of his district and Illinois will be missed."
