Hello, ,
This summer, Ride Illinois encourages you to run make lots of trips by bike. Join us in encouraging Illinois residents to Drive Less, Bike More!
On July 1st, League of American Bicyclists and Ride Illinois kicked off a challenge to all Americans to experience the utility and possibilities of going places by bike. And we know that Illinois residents love a little competition! All are invited to join this campaign to “Drive Less, Bike More” challenge!
Last year, League of American Bicyclists set a goal to make 1 million miles of transportation trips by bike through the Challenge. In total, participants rode more than 1,500,000 miles for transportation, that’s over 167,337 lbs of CO2 kept out of the atmosphere! How much greener we can get in 2022? How about 2 million miles worth?!
We’re asking you to find as many opportunities as possible to put down the car keys, strap on a helmet, and pedal your bike for transportation in 2022. We need your help so Ride Illinois and League of American Bicyclists can achieve the shared goal of 2 million miles by bike for transportation through the Drive Less, Bike More Challenge!
Make your next trip to the movies, library, work, school, coffee shop, or ice cream shop by bike and join tens of thousands of others in making 2 million miles of bike trips for transportation by the end of 2022.
As an added incentive, Ride Illinois set a goal for Illinois residents to log 10,000 transportation miles in the Love to Ride app by the end of September! If this goal is met, Ride Illinois will receive a $2,000 donation from a generous donor. Please help us reach this goal!
