VeoRide has been on the streets for roughly a week and a half and they are all over campus!
Monday morning’s snapshot of bikeshare bikes on campus.
So I thought why not try one of these bikes!
Pro: It was $1 for a 20 minute ride, which is a enough to get me from one side of town to the other. Saddle was easy to adjust. It ended up walking less than a quarter of mile to get to a bike and parking at the closest bike rack to my destination. Way more convenient than a docked bike share bicycle.
Con: 3 speeds left me feeling like I was just spinning my legs going downhill. Even at stop signs there was no use to switch to the first gear. I love the durability of the three speed hub but it is tough to use when you are used to a multi-geared bicycle.
The smallest complaint! Do not trust the height recommendations on the seat post, just put the saddle to were it is comfortable.
Overall Rating: 4 out 5
It really saved me time, and was cheap, just disliked the gearing. It is not my bike, though, so this might be TOO picky.
