Veoride has introduced E-bikes to our campus! Electric assistance bikes have been placed throughout the campus, and they're all the rage! E-bikes are designed to go up to 68 miles and provide an extra boost with a new design attached to the side of the bike’s basket. On Wednesday, April 2nd, there was a launch party by the Undergraduate Library (UGL), and VeoRide provided students with the chance to test out the E-bikes for free. According to VeoRide' s usage data, the e-assist bikes have been checked out at three times the rate of the non-electric bikes. Riders are also able to adjust the torque to better fit riding conditions. For example, if you’re going uphill, downhill, or on a slippery road, you can adjust to those conditions. What happens when the bike needs to be charged? No worries, VeoRide’s operation team will swap the battery anytime the charge is low or dead. So what are you waiting for? This is the perfect weather and the opportunity to ride one of these electric bikes! Still not convinced this is worth checking out. Well, it only cost $1.00 to unlock the bike, and 15 cents per minute to ride. Where else will you be allotted the chance to ride an E-bike for that price? Biking, whether it is an e-bike or a traditional bike, can be fun, fulfilling, and stress relieving! So, the next time the weather is of your liking, hop on a bike and ride along campus or to the local parks. Happy Biking!
