A little bit about Grace:
Q: Where is home for you?
A: La Grange, Illinois.
Q: What is your year and major?
A: I'm a freshman in Elementary Education.
Q: How did you know you wanted to go into the field of education?
A: Growing up, I loved helping people, especially kids. So, when I got my first job at a local pool teaching swim lessons, I realized that my passion was teaching. I then took high school classes where I was allowed to student-teach in classrooms and fell in love with the environment and the idea of inspiring students of future generations to come.
Q: WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ILLINOIS?
A: The education program here is a lot smaller compared to other schools, so it was here where I knew I could be prioritized and, despite the smaller size, still be offered all the resources I needed. Plus, I am super close with my family, so I wanted to go somewhere close enough that they could visit.
Q: WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING MOST IN COLLEGE?
A: I am looking forward to my teaching placement my senior year, joining the council board in my sorority (Kappa Delta), and attending the basketball and football games.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: I would love to be a teacher at my old elementary school!
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: I had a pet squirrel!
