Special Education sophomore Grace Seiffert has always had a passion and talent for working with children; so naturally, pursuing education was the next step.
While on campus and away from family, Grace says the College of Education has really become her home away from home.
"The faculty, professors, and other students are so outgoing and friendly. They've really made the College of Education a second home and become my campus family."
A little bit about Grace
Q. What do you enjoy about your campus experience so far?
A. I love all the opportunities the University of Illinois has to offer. I am never bored because there is always something going on. My clubs, school work, and friends keep me so busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
Q. Do you have a favorite professor, or course? Why?
A. I have two favorite courses— KIN 262 and SHS 320. They are both SPED requirements and have been so interesting. I love going to class every day because of the content and phenomenal professors.
Q. Tell us about your future career plans after graduating:
A. In the future I would love to work in a self-contained, special education classroom. That has been my dream for a while. I have seen the impact teachers have on so many students and I cannot wait to be that teacher to a student in the near future!
