Freshman Grace McCoy is starting her college journey under unusual circumstances, but that's not stopping her ambition, optimism, and drive! Grace has always seen the value in education, and through the support of the College of Education community, she is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. Grace says, "Any job in this profession would be rewarding and would keep me on my toes, so that I continue to feel that I am doing something worthwhile for my students."

Q: Where is home for you?
A: I'm from Naperville, Illinois.
Q: What is your year and major?
A: I'm a Freshman in Elementary Education!
Q: Why did you choose Illinois?
A: I chose to come to Illinois because of the atmosphere among the student body, and because of the sense of community and support I felt in the College of Education.
Q: How did you know you wanted to go into the field of education?
A: I have always loved being in school and learning new things. I feel that any job in this profession would be rewarding and keep me on my toes, so that I continue to feel that I am doing something worthwhile for my students.
Q: What are you looking forward to most in college?
A: I am looking forward to exploring new places on campus and meeting new people.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Either an Ice Cream Flavor Tester or Elementary Educator.
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: I won a hula hooping contest once:)
