Call for Applications: Humanities Gateway Internship in Public Media and Civic Engagement

Undergraduate majors in humanities disciplines are invited to apply for a paid internship in Public Media and Civic Engagement sponsored by the Humanities Research Institute (HRI), the campus humanities hub, in partnership with Illinois Public Media (IPM), the public broadcasting service of the University of Illinois (your local NPR/PBS station). The successful candidate will be housed at IPM and will work under the supervision of the station’s news and public affairs director to produce 4–8 community listening sessions for news reporters. These listening sessions will assist reporters in understanding the aspirations of the communities we serve and the roadblocks to those aspirations. Information from these sessions will be shared throughout IPM and will assist in the creation of on-air and online programming.
