We are pleased to announce the CFP for the first round of Seed Grant Funding for HWW’s next Grand Research Challenge. This competition is open to tenure-track faculty at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and the deadline for applications is April 15, 2021.
Over the course of fall 2020, the Humanities Research Institute at UIUC has, in partnership with our colleague Professor Jenny Davis, sponsored a number of conversations and presentations centered on the key components of HWW’s orientation in this round of funding: reciprocity and redistribution. To learn more and to access videos of HWW events, go to the HWW Grand Research Challenge site.
Over the last five years, HWW has funded nearly 40 unique Grand Research Challenge grants—view a comprehensive list.
In February 2021, HRI will be hosting a series of grant development workshops with Professor Bill Hart-Davidson from Michigan State University. These include sessions on:
- Charting Pathways to Intellectual Leadership
- Creating an Idea that Others Can Invest In
- Building a Collaborative Team
- Building a Funding Strategy
Register for one or all of the sessions.
Also in spring of 2021, HWW will be hosting sessions designed to continue conversations about how to prioritize reciprocal partnerships and redistributive methods in your Seed Grant application planning and development. A full list of these sessions will be available in January.
