Are you looking to prepare for the Fall semester’s curriculum? The Urban Health Program for The College of Nursing and faculty from different University of Illinois campuses have you covered. We are offering an array of courses delivered to you in a hybrid format. The list of classes includes the following:
- Strategies for Increasing Success in Nursing Education – tools and strategies to achieve success in nursing school
- Advanced Study Skills for Nursing Education – test-taking strategies and overview of academic resources
- Pathophysiology – learn more about different organ systems and related disease processes
- Clinical Skills – aid in preparing for assessment techniques and clinical simulation labs
- Physiology – review functioning of different organ systems and homeostasis
- Statistics – apply population health scenarios to existing statistical knowledge
- Epidemiology – define epidemiology and how it applies to population health
- Philosophy of Science – important topics include scientific method, obtaining scientific knowledge, and further development of critical thinking skills
- Pharmacology – intro prep course to understand pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, major drug classes, and mechanisms of action
If you want to get a head start on your coursework this Summer, this opportunity is right for you. Fortunately, you have the discretion to choose which courses are most beneficial to you and there are no concurrent course registration requirements.
