In February 2019, UHP offered three mock interview sessions for all prospective BSN and Graduate Entry MS students. Over 120 applicants participated in the mock interview sessions to prepare for their respective application interviews upcoming in March and April. The Mock Interviews included in-person and online (zoom) sessions, while including worldwide participants.
We are grateful for the interviewers in the Urban Health Program College of Nursing Student Association (UCONSA) who volunteered their time to assist in interviewing respective students, answering questions, and providing feedback and advice. One participant mentioned how it
“made me feel more confident, and to focus more on eye contact and good posture”. She also hopes to someday be a help to future students like herself by working with UHP.
By holding these voluntary mock interview sessions to College of Nursing applicants, UHP hoped to empower underrepresented populations and racial/ethnic minorities to succeed in their interview with intention to be accepted into their desired programs.
