On Thursday, March 5 high school junior at Benito Juarez High School were presented an informational presentation from the volunteers at the College of Nursing. The students were introduced to nursing and different career opportunities that nursing can lead to. Students were explained how to best prepare themselves for a career in the health care field while they are in high school.
The volunteers then went on explaining their journey into nursing and the struggles they had to overcome as students. The students were then shown how to properly use personal protective equipments in the correct order. Some myths that the students had heard about the Covid-19 virus were debunked. The students learned when its the proper time to wear a facial mask and importance of hand hygiene. The students enjoyed learning about the nursing career and how they can better prepare themselves if they want to be a healthcare provider in the future.
