The Informatics Minor is connected to the School of Information Sciences. If students are unable to pursue the BS/IS degree, the minor would be an excellent option.
Informatics
Informatics studies the design, application, use and impact of information technology. A Minor in Informatics can diversify your educational portfolio and complement your major. The informatics minor signals that you have concrete expertise in computing and information technology and that you understand their human implications.
Note: Students are not able to complete an Informatics Minor with the BS/IS degree. All INFO courses count within the BS/IS degree (including a majority of the approved electives). Please discuss with an IS advisor if you have questions.
Declaring INFO Minor
Students must work with the Informatics Advisor to declare the INFO Minor (this is not administered by the BS/IS office). Visit the INFO Minor Website for additional information: https://www.informatics.illinois.edu/minor-program/
