Registration Resources (Office of the Registrar)
Registration Errors
Students may get a registration error if they are trying to add a course that has certain restrictions. We recommend following the below steps:
- Check the Course Explorer to see if the class has certain restrictions (certain major, graduate section, level, etc.)
- There are some sections restricted for certain groups (you may be trying to add the graduate section instead of the undergraduate)
- Section information often includes additional information on if/when the restriction will be lifted
- There may be reserved seats for certain levels (typically the section text will include this information)
- Some courses are "Crosslisted" and you may need to register for one of the crosslisted sections
- Common for IS 107, as students must register for STAT 107 (same course)
- If no information is available in Course Explorer, contact the department overseeing the course (Information Sciences for IS/INFO courses, otherwise the relevant department for whatever course you are trying to add)
