Jorge is a graduate student studying Human Resources. For undergrad at Illinois, he studied Social Work with a dual-degree in Spanish. He studied abroad for the 2017 calendar year in Granada, Spain and in Bilbao, Spain during the Fall of 2018. His experience being Latino abroad was remarkable! In his experience, Europeans often embraced diversity, so he always felt included and free to be himself. Jorge's advice is to consider various methods of funding your program. He was fortunate to receive scholarships for students of color and took out loans. He encourages students to take advantage of this once in a life time opportunity, as you may not have the chance to go abroad as easily after graduation.
