How do you keep your team engaged? One simple answer: CREATIVITY! No longer can work be done in a monotonous manner. In the face of an ever-increasingly technically dependent world, leaders need to be creative in their addressing of communication styles, problem-solving, and team-building activities.
To begin, today’s leaders need to be able to communicate with diverse population groups. Creativity helps these leaders to vary their strategies for reaching all members of their teams.
Similarly, creativity is fundamental to problem-solving. Today, there are innumerable challenges leaders face daily. There are always technological flaws, disputes between team members, and fundamental issues with the project they are bringing to life. If one has a creative mind, they think fluidly. By looking outside of the box, one can find unique solutions that had not been evident prior.
Lastly, by inspiring and interacting with their members creatively, leaders can create dynamic teams that will rise above said challenges. As our world becomes more interlaced with metaphysical cyberspace, soft skills need to be fostered within all members of our groups. By designing exciting and stimulating engagements, groups can be pushed to their limits where members can connect with their peers. More importantly, leaders can encourage trust between themselves and their team.
Overall, creativity is one of the most impactful soft skills that should be promoted in leadership education. Not only will this help us overcome challenges, but the creative mind is more pliable in all areas of life. As we continue to develop leaders, we need to design a strategy for strengthening these values in our leaders.
