Dual Degree with Advertising
Biography: My name is Aliya Gilley and I am pursuing a dual degree on advertising and IS. I have a strong interest in UX and data, but I haven't completely decided what pathway I want to pursue yet. I like to see and do new things whenever I can. In the picture, I am with my boyfriend at the World War II Memorial in DC! I'm excited to see what's out there in the ISchool program!
Why Information Sciences: I want to major in Information Sciences because I love how interdisciplinary it is, by which I mean how many pathways you can take. I can get a degree here and have opportunities in computer science, business, media, and more. I also really like it so far; the combination of technical and humanities studies really interests me because I think an understanding of the technology we use as well as understanding of the technical study is the most fulfilling, well-rounded education I could obtain. I’m really excited about the prospect of not necessarily having my degree and my future job have the same title: I have options.
