Surfer and Grapher from Golden Software are now available at no cost to the entire University of Illinois community, including faculty, staff, and students across Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Chicago (UIC), and Springfield (UIS).
These are provided through a university-wide Golden Software Consortium, funded by contributions from departments, colleges, and campus administration.

How It Works
License Type
Surfer and Grapher are made available via a concurrent (floating) license, meaning multiple users can install the software, but the number of simultaneous users is limited by available seats on the license server.
